You’ve heard of people living “the good life.” They always seem to have plenty of time, money, and energy to fulfill their goals and dreams. Their secret? A simple life.
Pure and Simple is based on the 80/20 principle and suggests steps to simplify your life, accomplish more, and increase the quality of your time and efforts – all with less work!
Inside, you’ll learn how and why you should
- limit your choices in everyday life. Discover four areas of your life that can be greatly improved.
- declutter your physical and digital space. This doesn’t mean living with less than 100 things.
- use the golden rules of simplification. Make decisions more quickly and with less effort.
- cut unnecessary time commitments. Have the time to reach your goals and fulfill your dreams.
- build a positive outlook. Learn to overcome a negative mindset to better enjoy your life.
All these suggestions are laid out to help you shift away from the frustrating mindset of “fixing” your life by working harder, gaining more possessions, and holding on to what’s truly limiting you in life.
Each step is supported with research by leaders in psychology, behavioral studies, and neuroscience as well as examples of real habits by successful people such as Warren Buffet and President Obama.
Once you finish, you’ll be better prepared to take your life to the next level. You’ll be able to enjoy the simplicity and ease of a life without unnecessary and exhausting demands on your time and energy. More importantly, you’ll be able to stick to your simple, new habits instead of defaulting back to complexity.

Pure and Simple How to Simplify Your Life Do Less and Get More edition by Martin Meadows Health Fitness Dieting eBooks
PURE and SIMPLE - ReviewMartin’s new book is right up my street. Pure and Simple. And yet the title brings up a question. Can you really have it all and simplify your life at the same time?
The book begins by reminding me that too much randomness in my life produces confusion. If there are too many decisions to make, the result is often rushed decisions, poor decisions, or no decisions when it matters. Martin offers some quick examples of how to reduce my daily decision load; by choosing to make fewer choices. Martin makes it seem simple.
Martin suggests that a focus on happiness makes choice easier, and the results of choice more rewarding. I’ve certainly experienced a feeling of freedom when decluttering. Martin gives some more ideas that will be worth trying.
In Pure and Simple, I get three ‘rules’ for living more simply. They aren’t really ‘rules’; they are suggestions about choices. And they make a lot of sense! Then Martin give s three steps for developing a positive mindset, which makes the process (of staying positive) seem easy and worthwhile.
Martin has done a lot of research fo this book, and offers alternative points of view, so I can weigh the evidence as he has. His process of reducing stress in life caused me to ask a lot of questions of myself. Maybe it will be the same for you too.

Pure and Simple How to Simplify Your Life Do Less and Get More edition by Martin Meadows Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews
Martin Meadows does alot in this short book. I expected alot of re-hashed ideas since i read many blogs on minimalism and simple living, but I found many new ideas and new perspectives on these topics. It's short enough that I can read it, and read it again to get it to sink in more. Really worth the $.
If you are like me, you lead a very hectic and busy life and never seem to have time for yourself. I see people who seem to have it all and I ask myself how they do it. Upon asking this question, I have found that the answer is obvious – by leading a simpler life. This book will help you embrace that simple lifestyle.
Pure and Simple will teach you how to focus on the vital few instead of concentrating on the trivial many to escape the trap of complexity. You will learn that by limited your choices in life, you will greatly improve your life. In addition, you will learn how to declutter your life and how to use the golden rules of simplification.
If you truly want to live the good life and fulfill all your goals and dreams, you need to read how to live Pure and Simple. This book will definitely change your look on life.
Do you want to know how to create a simple life, do less and get more done? Martin Meadows will show you exactly how to do this. This book is a self help guide that will help you journal questions and answers to help you with cutting away all the unnecessary things in your life and get more done so you can focus on doing less. A quote that we are all aware of but really need to concentrate on in our life is, "80% of your profits come from 20% of your clients." Martin Meadows writes self help books to help with your business life or personal life. The goal of his book is to help you escape the trap of complexity by learning how to focus on the vital few instead of the trivial many. The best part is the "Recap" at the end of each chapter. I have learned so many great things by reading his book. For example, limited options will give you a more satisfied life than if you have many options. If I go to a shoe store to look at all the types and styles, I have to admit it is hard for me to make a decision on what to buy. On the other hand I love the Harley Davidson brand name, so I stick to just that brand with fewer options. Martin Meadows suggests to take each area of your life for example, your clothes, get rid of all that you do not absolutely love to wear. Keep it simple, a famous newscast person wore the same suit each day and no one ever said anything, so if he can do that so can everyone. The same goes for fitness and health, stick to one thing that works, like 15 minute meals but eat that each day or week, so that you can limit your choices and simplify your eating choices, it saves money too. Most important I learned that if you are great at what you do in your Industry, know it inside and out, be the "go to" person. It reminded me of reading a book by Phil Cooke "One Big Thing." I have to say the writing style is simple, an it's an easy to read book. This book will invite you to explore new ways to simplify your life with examples, resources, stores, statistics and so that when you are finished reading it, immediate changes in your life become simple to do. I would recommend this book to those who need to get motivated and start making small steps to a more satisfying life. © 2015 Jackie Paulson
Quick, simple, to the point read. I use Snippefy to collect my notes and highlights, this book had lots of highlights for me. Here are a few that I found especially noteworthy!
"Constraints not only make you more creative, they also help you make better decisions that will leave you more satisfied."
If you give yourself a regimen or a plan or a schedule, that's one less thing you have to think about, so it opens up your creativity.
I love this one
"In the ancient fable The Fox and the Cat, a cat and a fox discuss how many tricks they have to escape the hunters. The fox boasts that he has many; the cat confesses to having only one. When hunters arrive with their dogs, the cat quickly climbs a tree, but the fox is caught by the hounds, unable to choose between his hundreds of tricks. What’s the point of knowing hundreds of diets if you can’t stick with one? Why learn hundreds of exercises if you only need to perform a few of them to achieve your results?"
It could be summed up in one word focus. I feel like the fox far too often.
Finally
"Experiences improve with time; possessions do not."
Yet another reason to spend money (and time and energy) on travel and not on stuff (= junk).
Enjoy the book!
